Wonderful Wednesday!!
We began the day awarding our track and field
medalists!!
Next we read chapter 10 of our novel study.
After first recess and lunch we had Music.
When we returned, we explored probability
while using various spinners.
We then continued working on how we would
make the earth glitter!!!
When we were finished, we began performing
action as a class. Each of us will make a poster that will be posted around the
school encouraging our school community to help protect our planet and our endangered
animal friends!
After second recess and lunch we went for
another nature walk!!!
Today our mission as nature detectives was
to complete a nest challenge!
Spring is a time for birds to build a nest,
ready for egg laying and bringing up hatched chicks. Our mission: Can you build
a nest that could hold a clutch of eggs and withstand the wind? Look for
materials on the woodland floor that you could use. We were then given a bigger
challenge! We were asked to only use one hand since birds only have a beak that
they use to build their nests!!! We all successfully completed this mission as
nature detectives and then we ended up building a big nest as a whole of Grade
2 using our social skills successfully!!!
