first recess and lunch, students had Music.

When
students returned we began an art project for Art’s Night. We are learning
about “fractured” art.
After
second recess and lunch, we found out our Leprechaun name and then wrote a
wanted poster for ourselves. This was so much fun!! Many students decided they
were last seen stealing gold from Outgoing McMuffin (Ms. Jaskolka)!!
After we discussed St. Patrick’s Day and what we know about this holiday. We then learned some interesting information about St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland, and the clover.
Here are some: In Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, people traditionally wear a small bunch of shamrocks on their jackets or hats. Children wear orange, white, and green badges, and women and girls wear green ribbons in their hair. Many cities have a St. Patrick’s Day parade.
St. Patrick Day is on March 17 because that is the celebration day of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It is believed that he died on March 17 a very long time ago. The Irish flag is green, white, and orange.
The green symbolizes the people of the south, and orange, the people of the north. White represents the peace that brings them together. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14! Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is hope, the second for faith, the third for love, and the fourth for luck.
