Tremendous Tuesday!!
We began the day working on our speeches
for the oral competition.
Next we had French and then Gym.
After first recess and lunch we did a new
set of follow me cards related to time. Today we were able to get them done in
8 minutes and 57 seconds. Each day we will try to improve this time. Next we
practiced elapsed time as a group. Ms. Jaskolka gave us various scenarios and
we needed to figure out the answer:
If recess begins at 10:10 and ends at 10:25
how low was recess? 15 minutes
If recess began at 10:10 and ends at 10:45
how low was recess? 35 minutes
If we were extra lucky and recess began at
10:10 and ended at 11:05 how long was recess? 55 minutes
If you began piano lessons at 4:45 and it
ended at 5:10 how low were your piano lessons? 25 minutes
If you began swimming lessons at 5:30 and
it ended at 6:45 how long were your swimming lessons? One hour and fifteen
minutes.
If you began basketball practice at 7:15
and it lasted for 45 minutes, what time did your basketball practice end? 8
o’clock.
We then worked on similar scenarios in
partners and groups.

After second recess and lunch we continued
working on our speeches.
