Marvelous Monday!

We began the day working on our spelling words for the week.

Next we had French and then Gym.

After first recess and lunch we had Music.

Next we moved onto Fun with Fractions! We continued our understanding of fractions playing bingo in partners!!! Ms. Jaskolka called out specific fractions and we used our bingo card to find if we had it (4 fourths, 3 fifths, 2 thirds).

We then worked on some fraction activities individually to show our understanding.

After first recess and lunch, we began learning about how to write a proper explanation using detail. We first discussed: What is an explanation? Write, in order, how and why something works or occurs. Ms. Jaskolka then gave us a scenario: Imagine that you met someone who has never seen or heard of a banana before. How can you use your words to create an explanation of a banana so that this person knows exactly, who eats them, where they grow, what they look like, when they grow, etc. We worked as a class to explain: what's a banana and where does it come from? We made a brainstorm as a class and then we began writing our detailed explanation.

1.     Read for 20 minutes

2.     Spelling pg.

3.     Dress up like you are 100 tears old tomorrow
