Wonderful Wednesday!
*****Tomorrow we will be celebrating Autism awareness day –
students are being asked to wear blue ****
We began the day writing our homework in
our agendas and then completing an assessment for Ms. Jaskolka.
We then had physical education with Mr.
Slyk.
During UOI, we continued our inquiry into
Easter celebrations. We read a book titled “The Easter Egg” and found out that
Hoppi, the rabbit, wanted to create a beautiful Easter egg so that the Easter
bunny would choose him to help hide Easter eggs. Hoppi went around to all the
different rabbits and saw their amazing Easter eggs and he began to feel
discouraged that he could not make one just as wonderful. He then found a baby
robins egg and decided to protect and keep it warm for its’ mom. The Easter
bunny ended up choosing Hoppi for his selfless act; Hoppi joined the Easter
bunny and delivered treats along side of him!
We then were able to make our own
incredible eggs using pastels! These will be displayed on Art’s Night.
After first recess and lunch, we had math.
Students used manipulatives to better understand how to use a place value mat when
adding two-digit numbers (tens and ones). We showed our understanding in our
math books.
We then had French with Mdm. Stella.
After second recess and lunch, we continued
to read about Flat Stanley. Once Stanley reached Japan he was met by ninjas!
They were trying to fight Stanley but when Oda Nobu learned that this was Flat
Stanley, he became amazed and ordered the ninjas to stop; Oda Nobu made it seem
as though Flat Stanley is famous!
