Wonderful Wednesday!
We have no school on Friday so
our spelling test is tomorrow
Our star of the week is Nicole!
Our buddy for the week is Amber. Thank you
for being a good friend!
We
began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.
When students returned, we
continued working on addition and subtraction word problems. We will continue
to practice solving addition and subtraction word problems and when to use each
one tomorrow.
Next, we had physical education
with Mr. H.
When students returned, they worked
on their summative project.
Following first recess and lunch,
students had Music.
Students then continued working on
their summative projects.
Following
second recess and lunch, we
learned about adding detail to our sentences. We first went over what we need
to ensure to have in a sentence: Capital, end mark (period), noun and a verb.
We also knew that in order to make great sentences we include adjectives
(descriptive words). We then went into more depth about how we can add more
detail by asking:
Who?
What?
Where?
When?
Why?
How?
We did two examples as a class and next
week students will be practicing adding detail to their sentences.
At the end of the day, we read
chapter 5 and 6 of Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur has finally met his new friend
Charlotte and has found out so much about her. She explains to him the life of a spider and
how they go about survival. She showed Wilbur how she catches and wraps a bug
up so she is able to drink its blood. Wilbur does not like the fact that she
traps and drinks the blood of bugs but she asked him, how else was she to eat? Wilbur
has started to become a bit hesitant about their friendship but we learned from
the author that Wilbur will find out that Charlotte is a nice spider who will
be kind and loyal to him. We then made predictions about what we think will
happen in chapter 7 which is titled Bad News. Oh no!
