We began the day with science fair awards, IB awards, and
an exiting house game!!
Our thinker for the month is Maxime!!
When we returned to class we worked on Math. We looked
at a picture of various groups of animals and figured out various addition word
problems that we could come up with.
Students then worked in their math workbooks, practicing
adding two digit numbers and coming up with addition stories. We then worked on
word problems where we needed to decide if we needed to add and subtract based
on key words (all together; left over).
Following first recess and lunch, we discussed as a
class how to go about drawing what we see. We did an example as a class to
understand our expectations as artists. We needed to ensure to take our time
and to continue to look back at our cultural artifact in order to accurately
sketch it. Students then transformed into artists and did a wonderful job
sketching their artifacts. We will continue working on these tomorrow.
After second recess and lunch, we continued sketching
our artifacts and then moved onto our lesson 13 spelling words.
