Tremendous
Thursday!!
We
began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.
During math we reviewed how
to go about conducting a survey. We first went over the main part of a bar
graph (title, labels, numbers). We then talked about the steps that we would take
when conducting a survey:
1. Choose a question
2. Decide how to collect
your data
3. Ask each person your
question
4. Tally the results
5. Make a bar graph to show
your information
Each student came up with
their own question and then asked ten students in our classroom, making sure to
tally their results. Next, they made a bar graph (including all the important
parts: title, numbers, and labels) and answered questions about their tally and
bar graph.
We were then off to
physical education with Mr. H.
When students returned,
they continued working on surveying and representing their information using a
tally and a bar graph.
Following first recess and
lunch, students finished off their summative project.
Then students were off to
Music with Mr. Oliver.
When students returned,
they practiced presenting their summative project to a partner.
After second recess and
lunch, students learned the purpose of and how to go about creating a diagram. Students
then chose a topic and made their own diagram.
Homework:

2. Practice for
summative presentation: students will begin presenting tomorrow
3. Spelling test

4. Reregistration
