Tremendous Thursday!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
During math, we continued working with
coins. We discussed the loonie and toonie and then we practiced counting all of
the coins.
Next, we had physical education with Mr.
Slyk.
We then continued with our Math.
Following first recess and lunch, we
performed our experiment for the third time.
We then answered our
question: How does temperature effect how much a gummy worm can stretch. Our
conclusion: When the gummy worm was put into cold water, it could not stretch
as much and it became harder. When the gummy worm was put in hot temperatures
(water and our hands), it expanded and was easier to stretch. We then related
our conclusion back to our healthy living unit. We discussed again the
importance of stretching before doing any physical activity so that our bodies
will be warmed up and flexible, just like the warmed up gummy worms.
We then had our Grade 2 healthy food party!!!! We organized our foods by food groups and then we ate them!!!! We had so much fun being healthy!!!
At recess, some students watched the bay blade challenge between the MYP students. They made their own bay blades!!
At the end of the
day, we worked on a reading comprehension activity related to our healthy
living unit. We gained a better understanding of the four food groups while
working on our reading comprehension skills.
At the end of the
day, we were able to run around outside after working so hard!!!
