Tremendous Tuesday!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
Next, we went over to the other grade two
class and we explored temperature in math. We had a conversation about the four
seasons and the kinds of clothing that we would wear during each one. We then
discussed how the temperature outside affects the clothing we wear. We decided
that we could use a thermometer in order to know the temperature. We used a
thermometer to measure the temperature in our classroom. We then put the
thermometer in cold water and watched the liquid in the thermometer go down.
After, we put the thermometer into boiling water and we saw how the liquid in
the thermometer rose all the way to the top! We showed our understanding of
temperature in our math books.
We then had physical education with Mr. H.
When we returned, we continued with our
math.
Following first recess and lunch, we
reviewed how to write a proper explanation answering who, what, where, when,
why and how about a specific topic. We then read some examples of toy explanations
and discussed if all the important components were included within.
Next, we had Music.
When we returned, Ms. Jaskolka showed us
how to present our healthy eating and exercise guides using expression and
excitement. We then worked in partners to practice our presentations. We
ensured that we were using expression, excitement, and actions. We also kept in
mind that we are convincing someone to eat our healthy foods and to perform our
healthy exercises so we need to be persuasive. Take a peak:
After second recess and lunch, we related
our journal entry to our novel study. Our writing prompt: If I were spider…. We
really used our big imaginations to write in our journals today!!!!
