Tremendous Tuesday!
We began the day have French with
Mlle. Jessica.
We then began learning about
Canadian coins. We cut out a money flip flap book to help us better understand
Canadian coins.
Next, we had physical education
with Mr. H.
When we returned, we continued with
our money flip flap books.
After recess and lunch, we began
our science fair experiment! Since we are now scientist, we had a conversation
of what it means to be scientist and how to go about performing an experiment
following the scientific method. We were then introduced to our topic, which
involved temperature. We researched as a class how temperature effects various
objects and materials and what happens when an object becomes cold and hot. We
will be exploring temperature using gummy worms!!
We used our research to come up with our
question:
How does temperature effect how much
a gummy worm can stretch?
Based on our question we each come
up with our own hypothesis.
After, we did our first science
experiment! We made predictions about how much we would be able to stretch each
gummy worm and then we checked to see if we were right. We stretched a gummy
worm in room temperature, cold ice water, hot water, and warmed in hands. We then wrote our observations and results on a
recording chart.
Following second recess and lunch,
we worked on our lesson 10 spelling words and then finished our letters to a
veteran.
