Wonderful Wednesday!!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
We then began learning about money. We first
had a discussion about why it is important to understand how to count money and
about the coins themselves. We then explored the penny (which we do not use
anymore, ask us why!), nickel, dime, and quarter. We practiced counting using
these coins and completing our flip flap book related to these coins.
Next we had physical education with Mr. H.
We then continued with Math.
Following first recess and lunch, we did
our second experiment for the science fair!!! We also related our experiment back to our UOI about
Healthy Living. We noticed that the gummy worms are able to stretch much more when put into hot water or
when warmed in hands than when put into ice-cold water. When thinking about our
bodies, we decided that it is also important to warm up our bodies by stretching
before performing any physical activity. When you warm up, you are literally warming up the temperature of both
your body and your muscles. In addition, stretching
provides increased: flexibility just like the gummy worms are more flexible
when put into hot water or warmed in our hands!
Watch us perform our experiment for the
second time!
Next, we had Music.
When we returned, we completed an activity
for the last page of our report card. We ‘reflected’ upon the first term and
wrote about what we learned, what we improved on, and what we had the most fun
doing.
Following second recess and lunch, we read
the last chapter of Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur was able to live for a long time
and Charlotte’s children and grandchildren continued to form bonds with Wilbur
and he was never without a friend!!!
