Wonderful Wednesday!
We began the day with some Art! We watched
a short video about warm and cool colours and how artists use specific colours
to evoke certain emotions:
We used this knowledge to focus fractured
art. Each of us were given an animal and we began with using warm colours to
colour in the animal and we will be using cool colours as the background; this
way our animals will really pop!!! We will be displaying our beautiful
creations on art’s night!!!
Next we had French.
After French we went to check our war memorabilia
that was set up in the auditorium since Remembrance Day is coming up. We really
enjoyed learning about the wars and being able to explore the various
artifacts!!
Following first recess and lunch we
continued with our fractured art.
Then we moved onto Math. Yesterday we
sorted shapes using 2 attributes and today we focused on organizing shapes
using three attributes. Ms. Jaskolka is really impressed with how quickly we
caught onto this concept!!!! Ms. Jaskolka gave us shapes and three attributes
as a class and we worked together to sort them accordingly. We then worked on
some individual activities sorting shapes using three attributes.
After second recess and lunch we continued
with our fractured art.
At the end of the day we read ‘A poppy is
to remember.’ We learned about why we wear a poppy to remember: we wear a poppy
to remember all those brave people who fought in wars, those who died,
survived, were left without loved ones and for those who help those who were
hurt. Tomorrow morning we will have a Remembrance day ceremony to celebrate all
of our veterans.
Also, Vaibhav and Arya presented their research about the attitude for the month which is confidence!!!
