Fabulous Friday!!!

A note from Ms. Melissa regarding re-registration packages - Just a friendly reminder that re-registration packages are due no later than Monday, February 11.  After this time, spots will be opened up to the public and your child will not be guaranteed a space for next year.  We look forward to seeing you back for next year!

The first class who hands in their forms gets a Pizza party!!

A note regarding speeches – Due to our growing population at SJA, this year speeches will be split into two days. On Thursday, February 7th, JK-Grade 2 will recite their poems and stories and on Friday, February 8th, Grade 4-8 will recite their speeches.

Jump Rope for Heart – It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA!

Book Fair – Ms. Hayward and her book fair crew have already begun discussing our book fair. It will be taking place during the week of February 4th to 8th

Don't miss out on your chance to reserve your spot for our March Break Camp!!

SJA Parent Guild is hosting a cookie decorating party for Valentine’s Day. For $5, students can decorate 4 cookies. Forms have been sent home and are due back, along with money, by Friday, February 1st. Payments options are cash, e-transfer or cheque, which can be made out to SJA Parent Guild. Do not miss out on the fun event!!

We began the day writing our pre-assessment for our new math unit: Geometry.

Then the rest of the day was spent working on our RSA and speeches.

For our RSA, we worked on adding the voice over and emailing the link to Ms. Jaskolka. I will post the RSA’s during the weekend. The students had so much fun working on and making their RSA about an explorer of their choice for their summative project! They also did a lot of work with technology and troubleshooting when encountering any problems! Way to go, Grade 6’s!

For our speeches, we had a peer look over our speech and Ms. Jaskolka as well. The good copy and cue cards are due Monday. Students are asked to memorize as much of their speech as they can this weekend, as they will be performing their speeches on Wednesday.

We also had Music and French today.

Have a great night!
