Science
Fair
We will begin working on our science fair project next
Wednesday. We will be learning about water pollution. Students are asked to
bring in a smock because our experiment might be a little messy. Thank you so
much!
Multiplication Song
Here is the multiplication song we have been practicing at
lunch. Students can also practice at home if they want to:
We began the day having art with Mr. Monaghan and physical
education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we continued learning about time. We
were given questions where we needed to figure out the analog and digital time.
Students are doing a fantastic job telling time! We also looked at a video to
understand AM and PM better. Here is the video:
During UOI, we continued working on our final project. We
are now done our advertisement and our rough copy. Next week we will edit our
rough copies and move onto our good copies before we present our product and
advertisement to the class.
After first recess and lunch we had French.
When students returned, we continued working on our recounts
from yesterday. Students completed writing their good copies and drawing a
picture for each part of their recount.
After second recess and lunch, students completed their
recounts and then presented them to the class. Students did an excellent job
teaching each other and learning from one another. When we were listening to
other students present, we realized that we might have missed an important part
in the story. We used this time to learn from each other about parts that we
could have included in our recount and also teaching each other the message
that the author is trying to tell us. When we read a book, often an author does
not tell us directly what their message is, we need to be detectives and figure
it out; this is what we did today. We are being encouraged to keep in mind what
the author is trying to tell us when we will be reading in the future. We
figured out that in Why should I share? the
author was telling us that it is important to share and that sharing is a good
thing to do; we also discussed that the author is telling us that we should
share because then others will want to share with us too.
We had an excellent day learning and working together!!
Watch us present our recounts:
