Terrific Thursday!
We began the day with Language Arts. We reviewed how to add
detail to our sentences by asking Who? What? When? Where? Why? And How? We also
discussed how we could use adjectives to add detail. We then worked in our
Ontario Writing books. We looked at various pictures and came up with a topic.
After we came up with the topic for a picture, we wrote detailed sentences
about it, making sure that each sentence refers back to the topic.
Wahkeen worked on adjectives.
During UOI we imagined a world without cars…planes…or
microwaves…A world without machines of any kind. We wrote about what it would
be like to live in this kind of world with no machines.
In Math, we began Unit 6: 3-D Geometry. We looked at the Big
Math Book and looked at a construction site. We discussed the shapes we learned
about in grade 1 and looked to see what kind of 3-D shapes we could see on the
construction site. Students then worked in partners creating their own construction
site using 3-D shapes.
Wahkeen counted quarters, nickels, and pennies.
After first recess and lunch we had French.
After French we had Art with Mr. Monaghan.
After second recess and lunch we continued working on our
writing from this morning.
Wahkeen worked on adjectives.
