We began the day with Art and then had physical education
with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned we had UOI. Yesterday we began a
Simple Machine’s Flip Flap Book. On each page we are showing what we have
learned about the simple machines. We are labeling each one, drawing and
explaining where each one can be used/seen.
We then moved onto Math. We first reviewed the various 3 D
shapes (cone, sphere, rectangular prism, triangular prism, cube, cylinder, and pyramid),
how they are similar and different as well as the number of faces, vertices,
and edges each one has. We then worked in partners and completed a building
challenge. We then explained why we used the shapes we chose. EX: when using a
rectangular prism and cube, we can stack them, put shapes next to them, and
they will not roll away because they have flat faces. When building it is not a
good idea to use a sphere because it will roll away. A cone, pyramid, and
triangular prism do not have flat faces at the top so we cannot stack any
shapes on top of them.
Wahkeen counted quarters and dimes today.
After first recess and lunch we had French.
When students returned, they wrote their homework in their
agenda’s and kept working on their Math.
After second recess and lunch, students worked on their good
copies of their love monster writing. Yesterday we read a book My Monster Momma Loves Me and then we
wrote about how we are love monsters. We wrote about three people that we love
and why.
We then continued working on our love monsters.
Two friends are finished. They did a great job!!
