Fabulous Friday!
We are the #1 class!
Joshua gave the whole class a trophy for being the best class. Way
to go Grade 2’s!! Also, a big thank you to Joshua for his kindness!!
For our upcoming UOI unit we need:
-empty Kleenex boxes
Please bring in any empty Kleenex boxes through out the week
We began the day having French with
Mdm. Stella.
After, students wrote their
spelling test and then their homework in their agendas.
Students after had Art with Ms.
Kerr.
After first recess and lunch,
students had physical education with Mr. Slyk.
When students returned we watched a
video about screws and wedges.
We then did a fun experiment with
Ms. Jaskolka to see how screws work. We used a screw top bottle and a snap on
bottle. We were asked what would happen to each bottle if they were dropped
from a high distance. We then did this experiment as a class. We did the
experiment three times. All three times, the top on the screw bottle did not
come off. During the first two trials, the snap top came off. During the next
trial, the top did not come off but the water started leaking from it. We came
to the conclusion that the screw top bottle worked better because of the
grooves. Screws also have these grooves and that is why they are able to hold
materials together even though they can be small.
During Math, students were given
questions to answer about specific graphs already completed. Students used the
information from the graphs (labels, title, and numbers) to answer questions.
After second recess and lunch,
students continued working on their Math.
