party on April 29th!
Prizes can also be won for students
who raise money! Grand prizes include a movie and pizza party; this is for the
class that raises the most money!
We began the day writing our spelling test
and then in our agendas.
We then had physical education with Mr.
Slyk.
After we continued our measurement unit. We
looked at the difference between measuring using centimeters and metres. We
noticed that centimeters are smaller and metres are a bigger measurement; we
now know that 100 cm go into 1 metre. After we looked for objects that we
thought were less than 1 metre (Book about masks), about 1 metre (width of the
door), and more than 1 metre (Daily 5 drawers). We estimated how long we
thought these objects were and then we used a metre stick to measure each
object to see if we were correct. After we looked at various items and
determined if we would use centimetres or metres to measure them (example: we
would use metres to measure a flag pole but we would use centimetres to measure
the width of a book).
After first recess and lunch, we worked on cutting out
an Earth Day Lapbook. We will learn about Earth day and how to reuse, reduce,
and recycle during our next unit of inquiry.
We then had French with Mdm. Stella.
After second recess and lunch, we made a brainstorm
about various symbols of Canada and then we watched a video to learn about
more.
We have been working so hard this week, that we were
given fun packages to work on at the end of the day.
