Terrific Thursday!
Chelsea has been performing action by reminding her parents to throw the food scraps into the food bin so that they can be used for compost! Great action Chelsea!!

We began the day
writing our homework in our agendas and then finishing our good copies of our
recounts about The Bravest Fish.
We then had
physical education with Mr. Slyk.
During Math, we learned how to
recognize when a figure is flipped, has slid, or turned. We did some examples as
a class.
After, we learned more about
direction. We looked at a hundred’s chart to find a way to get from 33 to 55 using
accurate and precise directions (right,
left, up, down). We went up to the board and described how we would get from 33
to 56. We then showed our understanding in our math book. We looked at various figures and explained
how each one has moved. We then looked at a hundred’s chart and figured out two
different paths of how to get from 27 to 54. We then explained our directions
to a friend.
After, we had an assembly for the
spring fundraiser. We found out that we are almost at the 9000 mark!!! We need
a little less then 600 dollars to water balloon our teachers!!
After first recess and lunch, we
had music. We then had French with Mdm. Stella.
Following second recess and lunch,
we spoke about the various ways that we can protect our trees. Some idea we
came up with:
-Using two sides of paper
-Recycling paper
-Using cardboard to make various items
(castle, doll house, storage container, drawers)
-Recycling cardboard
-Using cloth napkins instead of
paper
-Avoiding using paper plates
-Using newspapers as a place mat
when doing arts and crafts
-Using newspaper to wrap gifts
(instead of tissue paper or wrapping paper
-Using newspaper to wrap our
delicate items when moving homes
Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes
2. Bowling tomorrow
3. Spelling test tomorrow
4. Math Test Tuesday
