April 25: Popcorn day!!
What an exciting two weeks!!
Furthermore,
A Pledge form went home in efforts to renovate the school’s science lab and PE program. We kindly ask that all donations be turned in by Thursday, April 28th, 2016. All students who collect a minimum donation amount of $35.00 will be treated to a bowling party on April 29th!
Prizes can also be won for students who raise money! Grand prizes include a movie and pizza party; this is for the class that raises the most money!
We began the day writing our homework in
our agendas and then we began reading a book that would help us understand the
importance of helping our planet and ways that we can reduce, reuse, and
recycle.
We were then off to eat our pancakes!!!
When we came back, we continued
brainstorming ways that we can help our planet and we used those ideas to make
posters that will be hung around the school to inform others about the
importance of Earth Day and how they can help.
After first
recess and lunch we learned about perimeter and area. We learned that perimeter
is the distance around a two-dimensional shape. We did an example
as a class to understand how we would measure and calculate the perimeter of
2-D shapes. We also discussed that area is the size of a surface. So while
perimeter would be when we measure the outside of a 2-D shape, when we measure
the area, we are measuring the inside of the 2-D shape. We then practiced
measuring the area and perimeter of various 2-D shapes.
We then had French with Mdm. Stella.
After second recess and lunch, Karina presented her
cultural doll and her brochure for Portugal.

After, Krina showed
us an app that can help us learn more about helping the planet while having
fun!! Great action Krina!!
The App is called
Koda Quest.
We then worked on an activity where we discussed how we
are balanced learners. When we are balanced learners, we ensure to take care of
our mind, body, and feelings.
