Marvelous Monday!
We are all having a lot of fun
exploring the life cycle of our caterpillars!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
We then wrote a pre-assessment for math.
When we were finished, we dove into our first unit in math, Sorting and
Patterning. While we sat in a circle, Ms. Jaskolka provided many items for us
to sort while coming up with a sorting rule. Some examples: all crayons together,
all items that can erase, all items we can write with.
We then looked at the
big math book and sorted various objects in a workshop into various
toolboxes. After we worked in our math
texts, sorting various items.
We were then off to physical education with
Mr. H.
After first recess and lunch, we read some
books that helped us better understand “what is a life cycle” and how various
life cycles are the similar and different. We then explored the life cycle of a
snake and worked on an activity that helped us better understand the various
stages.
We then went to explore the library. We
walked around and noticed how various books are sorted. We read a book Nicolas at the Library. Nicolas did not
like reading or going to the library. When he finally visited the library, he
figured out the wonders that books have to offer! We learned that books provide
us with magical worlds full of surprise and amazement!
After we wrote our homework in our agendas.
Following second recess and lunch, we began
working on Spelling. We had conservation about consonants and vowels. After we
showed our knowledge of unit spelling one words in our workbooks. We then practiced our cursive.
At the end of the day, we had another
exciting “All about me” presentation!
