Tremendous Tuesday!
Some pictures from yesterday:
Joey presenting his “All about me’ bag:
Ben presenting his action about cobras:
Our action star is Jordan! He
brought in a book about lion and taught us some information about them!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
During math, we continued representing
patterns in different ways. We showed our knowledge in our math books.
We then had physical education with Mr. H.
When students returned, they continued working
on their own life cycle:
Here they are!
After first recess and lunch, we dove into
language. We first discussed what a sentence is (a group of words that make
sense) and then Ms. Jaskolka showed us some examples of words and we needed to
figure out if they were put into a complete sentence and if not, figure out
what they are missing (words, capital, period). We were then given a challenge.
We worked in groups to put together broken up sentences. There were 23! Here we
are:
During UOI, we were given specific animals
in our groups and we needed to decide how to organize/classify them. Students grappled with this activity and began
to figure out that we were splitting up the animals into three groups:
wings/feathers, hair/fur, and skin/scales. We then worked as a class to
organize all our animals on poster paper.
At the end of the day we did journal
writing. We wrote about our favourite animal and ensured to explain why we have
chosen our specific animal.
