Terrific
Tuesday!
Adam
is our action star today!! He taught us some interesting facts about insects!!
Ben
also taught us about ladybugs!!
We
began the day have French with Mlle. Jessica.
We then wrote a math pre-assessment
to see what we already know about our upcoming unit Number Relationships.
We were then off to physical
education with Mr. H.
When we returned, we continued
working on our Math. We learned about the different ways that we can group
objects. We looked at a big picture of grocery store items and discussed ways
we could count the items by grouping by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10. We then practiced
skip counting by 2, 5, and 10 as a class and then in our math books.
Following second recess and lunch,
we reviewed yesterday’s lesson about animal adaptations:
What does adaptation mean? Why do animals adapt? How do they adapt? We then
played a game to better understand animal adaptations. Students can also play
this exciting game at home!
We then had Music.
When students returned, we worked
together to understand how to write a proper sentence. Ms. Jaskolka gave us
some examples and we needed to figure out if they were proper sentences. We
needed to pay attention to the capital at the beginning and period at the end
of the sentence and we needed to ensure that each sentence made sense. We then
showed our understanding in our Ontario Writing books.
After second recess and lunch,
students worked on an animal adaptation activity. Students were given clues
about an animal adaptation and students needed to figure out the animal that
matched the description.
Next, students continued tracking
the life cycle of our caterpillars who have transformed into beautiful butterflies!
After, students continued tracking
the growth of their magic beans. Look how they are growing!!
At the end of the day, students
shared action with the class.
Have a great night!
