Wonderful Wednesday!
Pranati is our star of the week!! She worked very hard last week and ensured her work was detailed!
Check out how our magic beans are
growing!!!
Here is our action star board:
We began the day having French with
Mlle. Jessica.
In math, we continued to make
patterns and representing them in different ways (shape, letters, numbers,
colour, symbols, words). We created word patterns for our friends, and they
needed to draw them. We also drew patterns for our friends, and they needed to
represent the pattern in a different way (using numbers, shapes, words,
symbols, colours, letters).
Students then had physical
education with Mr. H.
When students returned, they
continued working on their math and any unfinished work.
Following second recess and lunch,
students had Music.
When students returned, we
discussed classifications of animals. We first read ‘What do you do with a tail
like this’ and we discussed how the various body parts of animals help them in
different ways. For example:
Next, we looked at posters of
mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and insects and discussed how they are
similar and different. We then looked at the animals from yesterday and we
broke them up into the six classifications of animals.
At the end of the day we had our Novel
Study. First, we did a retell of chapter 1 as a class. Next we read chapter two
of Charlotte’s Web, while at the same
time, paying attention to the nouns that we heard through out the chapter. We
found out that Wilbur was growing and healthy under the care of Fern. It came
to the point where Fern’s father told her that they needed to sell Wilbur to
her uncle. Fern was not happy with this decision, but alas Wilbur was gone. When
we were finished the chapter, we used our nouns to create sentences.
