Marvelous Monday!
We began the day writing out our spelling words for the week
and showing our understanding in our Spelling Books. We then had physical
education with Ms. Lovan.
During UOI, students completed a KWL chart about what they already
know about water conservation and what they want to learn about. After, they
began making posters about how they use water (we are realizing they are many
different ways that we use water!), where you think water comes from, and how
much water you think you use (in drawing the many different ways we use water
we can see we use a lot so we need to protect our water and make sure not to
waste it).
Then we had Math. We looked at the big math book and helped
Ms. Jaskolka get through a maze using accurate and precise directions so she
would not get stuck! (right, left, up, down). We then were given a hundred’s
chart and we each needed to find a way to get from 38 to 55 in three steps; we
realized there are many different ways to do. After, we made directions to find
a certain number and had a partner use our steps to figure out our number. We
then showed our understanding in our math book.
After first recess and lunch we had French. When students
returned, they wrote their homework in their agendas and then completed any unfinished
work.
After second recess and lunch, we reviewed how to write a
persuasive advertisement. We then began using a graphic advertisement to put
together a persuasive advertisement about a donut.
At the end of the day, we worked on a special art project
and then continued working on our Earth’s using ripped up blue and green paper.
