Fantastic Friday!
We began the day having French with Mdm. Stella.
We then had our unit 3 spelling test and wrote our homework
in our agendas.
After, we had art with Ms. Kerr.
Following first recess and lunch we had physical education
with Ms. Lovan.
During math, we created number line
mysteries for our friends. Students were given a number line up to 50 and asked
to cover up 5-10 numbers. Their partner needed to figure out which numbers were
missing and explain how they know (ex: I know number 16 is missing because 16
comes before 17 and after 15; students also explained the pattern). Students
then worked on a number line activity in their Math Makes Sense.
Afterwards we made our Japan
posters. We brought pictures of five features of Japan (food, shelter,
transportation, leisure and clothing) and we made travel posters. We needed to
ensure to have a title, label all our pictures, and also to make our poster
neat and creative. Working on this poster allowed us to learn so much more
about Japan!
After second recess and lunch, we
worked on making sentences that have at least one noun, verb, and adjective;
our challenge was to include more then one. Students began making these at
school and will finish them for homework.
Here is the assignment:
Noun, Verb,
Adjective Sentences
- Students will create five
sentences that will include at least 1 noun,
1 verb and 1 adjective in each.
- Challenge yourself and try to
include more then just one of each in order to create a detailed and complete
sentence. J
Example:
I (noun)
love to swim (verb) quickly (adjective) in the deep blue (2 adjectives) ocean
(noun).
Ensure
to start your sentences with a capital
and end each one with a period.
At the end of the day Joshua presented his all about me bag.
We learned so much about Joshua and we also explored the map together to look
for Trinidad, where he was born.
Ronit also shared his globe with us again and showed us
where Japan is.
Have a great weekend!
