Terrific Tuesday!
We began the day having French with
Mdm Stella.
We then inquired into local and
global foods. We learned that local foods are grown in Canada and that global
foods are grown outside of Canada and then brought by a boat, airplane, or
truck. We came to the conclusion that this is because we do not have all the
food offered in other countries and also that our weather affects what is grown
and produced in our country. Students worked on making a chart of local and
global food using fliers from the grocery store.
I will post the pictures as soon as
I can (my phone is not working at the moment)
We were then off to art with Ms.
Kerr.
After first recess and lunch we had
physical education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we
continued working on addition and subtraction word problems. We will continue
to practice solving addition and subtraction word problems and when to use each
one tomorrow.
For writing, we made our own
expanded sentences. We were given simple sentences and we added adjectives as
well as answered Who? What? Where? When? Why? And How? We then rewrote our whole
detailed sentence. Students were given the same sheet to take home in order to
practice adding detail to sentences.
After second recess and lunch we
read chapter 4 and 5 of Chocolate Fever. Henry was taken to see the school
nurse and his spots began to pop! The nurse decided he needed to go to the
hospital. When he got there, we met Dr. Fargo who is also unsure of what is
wrong with Henry!
Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes
2. Math pg. 35
3. 1 expanded sentences sheet
