Terrific Tuesday!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
We then shared the wonderful activities
that we did over the long weekend.
Next we had physical education.
When we returned, we discussed why it is
important to use standard units of measurement (cm and inches) versus
non-standard units of measurement
(paperclip and pencils). We then learned how to go about using a ruler
to measure. Working in partners, Ms. Jaksolka gave us a measuring challenge. We
worked together to find items that were about 10cm long; we measured these
items to see if we were correct. We then measured beetles in our math books
using a ruler.
Following first recess and lunch we had
Music.
When we retuned, we continued with our
math, however, Ms. Baimas came in with a mysterious jacket! Normally we would
put any items of clothing that are found into the lost and found but this
jacket had some important items so we wanted to figure out who it belongs to!
We found a Syrian passport, a study visa, some maps, money and a family
picture. We worked together to try and figure out who this jacket could belong
to. We think his name is Mustaffa because that is the name we found on the passport.
Ms. Jaskolka has set a side some time tomorrow to complete a booklet with
evidence so that we can uncover this mystery together!
Following second recess and lunch, we worked on our spelling words.
