We began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.

We then finished building and painting our futuristic transportation that will help us travel to another planet. They look great!!

Following first recess and lunch we finished reading chapter 5 of The Borrowers.

We then had Music.

When we returned, we read chapter 6 of The Borrowers. When we were finished, we then completed a character profile activity. We chose one of the characters in the story and we described what we think they look like using pictures and words. We also answered the following questions:
What is the character’s personality?
What does the character do in the story?

After second recess and lunch we began our new math unit. We discussed what we already know about measuring and different kinds of measuring units. We then began to explore non-standard units of measurement and then we will move onto using standard units of measurement. We decided to use pencils and crayons to measure the width of our classroom. We found out that the width of our classroom is 21 ½ pencils long and 45 crayons long! Tomorrow we will work in groups to measure various items using non-standard units.
