Tremendous Thursday!!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
We then marked our Math Review as a class.
Our Mass and Capacity test will be tomorrow.
Next we had gym.
When we returned, we joined Ms. Baimas’
class and read a book, One Well, to
learn about the importance of water, why we need to keep it clean and why we
need to conserve it. We found out that the water we have now on Earth never
changes!!! We have the same water as ten, twenty, one hundred thousand years
ago!!! So the water that we are drinking today could have quenched the thirst
of a dinosaur!!!! We were surprised to find out that the amount of fresh water
on Earth is very limited (only three percent of the water on Earth is fresh
water) and that we only have access to one percent of the fresh water because
the rest is stuck in icecaps and glaciers, trapped deep underground or in the
atmosphere! As a result, we really need to take care of the little fresh water
that we do have access to.
Following first recess and lunch, we were
given sections from the book we read before recess (One Well) and we worked in
groups to act out each part. As a result, we all became very knowledgeable
about why we need to conserve water and ways that we can do so: we became ‘well
aware’ about the many ways we need water to survive, how water is recycled, the
unequal distribution of clean water around the world, how people are polluting
our waters and what we can do to conserve and protect our lakes and oceans. Ask
us!
After we went to the library to exchange
our books.
Following second recess and lunch we read
chapter 18 of The Borrowers. Oh no!!!
Mild Eye has found the borrowers and is trying to catch them!!!
Vidhi and Daksh also shared their
adventures with Cuddly.
At the end of the day we practiced for
Art’s Night.
Seoyoung will be taking home Cuddly
