Terrific Thursday!
Nicole was awarded the ‘Balanced’ award!!!
We began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.
We were then given challenges during math:
There are 3 shapes in a bag. The total
number of sides is 13. What could the shapes be? Some friends found four ways
to solve this problem!!!

The students were very excited to solve
these exciting challenges!!!
We then had gym.
When we returned, we continued to use a
Mira to help us find the line of symmetry. We looked at some pictures and
determined if they have any lines of symmetry and then figured out where it
would go.
Following first recess and lunch, we shared
our cake advertisement with our peers and gave each other suggestions for our
next advertisement. We then worked on a graphic organizer about a donut.
Reading all the wonderful ideas made Ms. Jaskolka very hungry!!!
We then began our new UOI unit ‘Protect our
planet’ (Sharing the Planet). We first completed an activity to show what we
already know about animal food chains and prey versus predator. We will be
focusing on endangered animals and ways that we can help protect our animal
friends.
After second recess and lunch we read
chapter 12 of The Borrowers.
We also continued working on a special
project.
Homework:

Read for 20 minutes

Please being in a picture frame
that is about 8-9 by 11 inches (about the size of a piece of paper) for a
special art project

Students are also asked to
bring in a picture of themselves that is about 8cm by 8cm
