Fantastic Friday!!
A special thank you to the
family of Teni and Dolapo who brought in some Nigerian snacks, clothing, jewelry,
and money for International Day!
We began the day having art with Mr. Monaghan and physical
education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we discussed what we have learned about
different spinners and likely/unlikely results. Students then created their own
game for two players using a spinner. They were to decide what would likely
happen when people played their game. They explained what the players are expected
to do and then played their game with a partner. Students played their game
twice using two different spinners. In doing so, their game changed based on
the spinner they chose.
We then practiced for International Day and learned how to
say some words in Nigerian.
After first recess and lunch we went over to Ms. Dacosta’s
class and learned about a pulley. Ms. Dacosta and Ms. Jaskolka showed us how to
make a pulley and then we went off into groups and began to make one also.
Students will continue these on Monday.
After we had our unit 15 spelling test.
Following second recess and lunch, we set up for
International Day and then we presented our knowledge to all those inquiring
about Nigeria. Students did a fantastic job explaining Nigeria to others. Thank
you so much to all the students for their hard work!! A special thank you to
the family of Teni and Dolapo who brought in some Nigerian snacks, clothing, jewelry,
and money!
