Tremendous Tuesday!
We began the day having Art with Mr. Monaghan and physical education
with Ms. Lovan.
During Math, we were practicing how to subtract two digit
numbers and how to solve subtraction stories. We did a question as a class:
John brought in 7 cans of food for the food bank. Altogether his class
collected 36 cans. How many cans did the other children in the class bring in?
We knew that we needed to subtract because we have already been given how many
cans there are in total. We made sure to subtract beginning with 35 because it
is bigger than 7. With this question we also practiced borrowing. Afterwards,
students showed their understanding in the Math Makes Sense book.
During UOI, students continued building their bridges and
solving any problems that arose.
After first recess and lunch we had French. When students
returned they wrote their homework in their agendas and completed any
unfinished work.
At the end of the day we began our International Mindedness
project about Nigeria. We used this time to work on researching our topic and
getting all our information together.
