Marvelous Monday!
We began the day writing out our unit 14 spelling words and
then showing our understanding in our workout books.
Then we had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
During math, we looked at a picture of a pet show and
discussed which pet had the most entries (dogs) and which had the fewest
entries (rabbits). We then needed to figure out how many more dogs (54) than
rabbits (13) were at the pet show. We used mental math, ten frames, and put the
numbers into a subtraction sentence to figure out the answer. Students then demonstrated
their understanding in their Math Makes Sense books.
Wahkeen learned about the worth of a quarter. One quarter is
25 cents, two quarters are 50 cents, three quarters are 75 cents, and 4
quarters equal 1 loonie or 1 dollar.
After first recess and lunch students had French. When they
returned they wrote their homework in their agenda and then began building
their bridges for their summative project.
After second recess and lunch, we learned a new years poem
about making new years resolutions. Watch us:
We then discussed our own new years resolutions and then
wrote them down. During art, we traced our hands, cut them out, and wrote down
our new years resolutions on them.
