Marvelous Monday!
Structure
Information
Students
will bring in a photo of a structure they are familiar with. They will research
information about their structure, including the materials used to build it,
it’s location and it’s function (what an object is used for). Students will
present their structure to the class on Friday, December 11, 2015.
We began the day having French with
Mdm. Stella.
During UOI, we discussed the
difference between strength and stability and how it is important that
structures are both strong and stable.
We also watched a video to better
understand why structures need to be stable and strong; we looked again at the
houses built by the three little pigs:
We then defined strength and
stability in our UOI notebooks.
Afterwards, we continued making
predictions for our new novel study, Freckle Juice. We thought about what
Freckle Juice would do if someone would drink it and then we designed and
coloured what the freckle juice would look like. We cut them out and put them
onto our cover page for our Freckly Juice duo tang.
Following first recess and lunch, we
had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
We then moved onto Math. We
continued working on solving and creating two-digit addition stories.
When we were finished, we began
working on our Spelling work.
After second recess and lunch, we
wrote our homework in our agendas and then continued working on our spelling
work.
