Magnificent Monday!
We began the day writing out our unit 6 spelling words and
showing our understanding in our spelling workbooks.
Students then had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we continued our inquiry into the
media. We reviewed our “media in-a-day tally” sheet and charted our results. We
noticed that logos came up the most. We reviewed the different logos that we
see in a day.
Afterwards, we looked at four different types of media and
discussed the message and purpose:
Mcdonalds commercial
Marineland radio commercial
Toys R Us Flyer
In math, we were estimating with large numbers. We looked at a picture of people using paddles and we estimated how much we thought there was.

In math, we were estimating with large numbers. We looked at a picture of people using paddles and we estimated how much we thought there was.
As we counted by 2’s, we decided if we wanted to change our estimate; students
also counted the paddles by five. Students then created addition and
subtraction stories and sentences for another picture that had 20 men paddling
and 2 playing music on a boat.
Addition story: There are 20 people paddling on a boat. 2 more
are playing music on a boat. There are 22 people all together on the
boat.
Addition sentence: 20+2=22
Subtraction story: There are 22 people paddling on a boat. 2
decide to dance and play music. Now there are 20 people left paddling
the boat.
After first recess and lunch students had French.
When students returned they wrote their homework in their
agenda’s and completed any unfinished work.
During second lunch, we listened to a multiplication song.
We began with the number two. Watch us sing:

face.
