Tremendous Thursday!
This morning students began the day doing some drama with
Mr. Monaghan creating tableaux's. Students were adding what was missing in a
scene. An example, Wahkeen was a dog and one student added dog food to the scene, another a dog
bone. Another example: Saanvi was a water filter, another student was a water
bottle and another was filling water in a cup.
Afterwards, students had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned they continued working on their good
copy of their summative assignment.
During math, students practiced counting by 10s, 5s, and 2s.
Students worked in their Math Makes Sense, grouping ants and stickers by 10s
and counting whatever is left over to figure out how much there are all
together.
When they returned, students wrote their homework in their
agenda. Afterwards, we had our spelling test and then practised cursive. Students also practiced for their UOI
presentations.
After second recess and lunch, students presented their UOI
summative assignment. Students spoke to the class about the country that they
created, focusing on weather, clothing, housing, and food.
Afterwards, we went outside to celebrate Saanvi’s birthday. When
we got outside, we sang happy birthday, Saanvi handed out her treats to the
students and then we played charades.
Students were given a card with a verb and they acted out the verb. We also discussed synonyms when students were guessing what was being acted out. Students were so excited to act out a verb!
