Tremendous Thursday!
We began the day practicing adding detail to sentences. We
began with a simple sentence that had a verb and a noun. We then added
adjectives to describe the noun and then added two of the following: when, how,
where, why.
Afterwards we had physical education with Ms. Jaskolka and
Ms. Dacosta.
During our unit of inquiry, we went over different forms of
media, the purpose, and the techniques used in media. We also discussed media
literacy. As a class, we inquired into the messages that the media tries to
express to us. Then, students chose their our own advertisement and explained
the message being expressed.
After first recess and lunch, we continued exploring the
patterns that we can see on a hundred’s chart when we count by 2s, 5s, 10s, and
25.
Afterwards, students wrote their homework in their agenda’s
and completed any unfinished work.
After second recess and lunch, students continued working on
adding detail to their sentences.
At the end of the day, students went over all the work they
have done so far and chose something they believe is their best work, something
they worked their hardest on and a piece of work they think they could have
improved upon.
