Fantastic Friday!!!
We began the day with house games!!!!!
We then had a talk about the importance of being a good person and being a good friend. We talked about ways to react when we feel that someone has been unkind to us. We discussed how important it is to talk about our feelings when we are upset and to let things go so that we can live happy and peaceful lives. Often times, feelings get hurt unintentionally and it's important to show a mature attitude and approach the person who has hurt our feelings and explain how they made us feel. The older we get, we need to learn how to manage our emotions and feelings and to be able to problem solve with those around us. In life, we need to learn how to work with people who have many different personalities and it is important we learn to develop our people skills at a young age. We also talked about how everyone makes mistakes and that it is better to own up to our mistakes and in doing so we are able to grow and learn from them.
Then we continued working on DRA and OWA assessments. We also wrote a math pre-assessment for our upcoming unit.
After first recess and lunch we had French. Then we wrote an action word poem and had a classmate complete a peer reflection to check if we followed the criteria needed for an action word poem.
After second recess and lunch we dove into our new unit of inquiry about energy.We discussed the central idea and then the lines of inquiries. Then we worked on an activity where we identified the key concepts that correlated with each line of inquiry. We also completed a KWL chart about our new unit (what I know, what I want to know, and what I learned). We also wrote down a question about our new unit and posted it on our wonder wall. We are very excited for this unit!
