Tremendous Thursday!
We began the day writing the Developmental reading assessment (DRA). Tomorrow we will finish writing our DRA and Ms. Jaskolka will provide feedback about what we did well and what we can do to improve on our reading and comprehensions skills. We are all striving to be at a level 60, which is at grade level. Students are reminded that they should be reading books at this level every night. While doing so, students can practice reading out loud which will improve fluency (expression, pace and phrasing) as well as taking notes, writing summaries and answering questions about the book read.
Those students who finished their DRA, worked on writing a pre-assessment about the legend/fable style and format. In doing so, we are showing Ms. Jaskolka our current understanding of how to write a legend/fable and also our writing skills.
After first recess and lunch we had French and then another exciting house game!!!!
After second recess and lunch we had physical education with Mr. Orr.
