We began the day with a super fun game where students were
bowling using paper cups! J
We came to class and continued reading Chocolate Fever; we
read chapter 4 and 5. Henry’s brown spots began to pop and get bigger!! He had
to go to the doctor who did some tests and found out that the spots were
chocolate! We then created a book cover titled “Is there a cure for ______ (our
choice of food) fever.” After, we drew ourselves with the “fever” on the book
cover.
During UOI, we read The Three R’s: Reuse (to use less of
something; using very little, only what is needed), Reduce (to use something over
again), Recycle ( take old discarded (thrown away) materials and make new
products out of them). We learned more ways of how to do each one and why it is
important. We then defined each word for our Earth Day lap book. We also
defined environment, conserve, and compost.
After we had Math. Students chose 4 books and they measured
the height of each one using pencils, paperclips, or erasers. After, they
ordered the books by height, length, and then width.
After first recess and lunch, students had French. When
students returned, they wrote their homework in their agendas and then
completed any unfinished work.
After second recess and lunch, we reviewed how to write a
proper paragraph. A paragraph needs to have a topic sentence and at least three
detail sentences. Students then copied down a full paragraph.
At the end of the day, students finished their circle trees.
They look great!
