We began the day with another fun house game to celebrate
our Spring Fundraiser.
Then students had Art with Mr. Monaghan and physical
education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned we had Math. We discussed some
problems using things like erasers, pencils, and paper clips to measure. We
decided that we could not get an exact measurement using these objects. We then
looked at centimeter cubes and decided we would get more of an accurate answer
using these but if we wanted to measure something bigger it would take a really
long time. We then moved onto using a ruler. We measured various bugs in our
books using our rulers and then we looked for objects that we thought were 10cm
long. After, we measured each object to see if we were correct.
During UOI, we read a book Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and had a
discussion about the various ways we could do each one. After we worked in out
lap books and wrote one way we could reuse, reduce, recycle; next, we drew
pictures of each.
After first recess and lunch we had French. When students
returned they wrote their homework in their agendas and then created their own
paragraphs looking at a picture of a man in a wheelchair in our OW books.
After second recess and lunch we went outside to do word
work! We used chalk to practice our spelling words. When we were finished we
wrote messages to the other students about ways that they can help protect our
planet.
At the end of the day, students completed unfinished work
and coloured pictures for Earth Day.
