 Marvelous Monday!

We began the day with Spelling. Students wrote out their words for the week and then completed their spelling workbooks.

Students then had physical education with Ms. Lovan.

When students returned, we worked on a sorting and patterning review to help us with our test tomorrow.

Afterwards, we watched a video about Venice, Italy and took note of the food, clothing, transportation, shelter and leisure that we saw. We learned so many new things about Venice! For example, there are no roads and people get around with boats!

Mme. Stella was away today, so after first recess and lunch, we continued watching the video about Venice and discussing all the features we saw.

We then wrote our homework in our agendas and completed any unfinished work.

Afterwards we learned how to brainstorm. Brainstorming is an important part when writing and we learned that this is a great way to get out all of our ideas to help us during the writing process. We did a brainstorm about Italy as a class and wrote down all the new things we have been learning about this country.

After second recess and lunch, students had visual arts. We read a book called Mouse Paint and discussed our primary and secondary colours.

Afterwards, we had some fun mixing colours and making secondary colours. Since today was the last day of summer, as a final goodbye to this season, our art activity was to make a caterpillar using the primary and secondary colours. We will continue working on them tomorrow.
