Tomorrow we are celebrating Anti-bullying day, so students are
asked to come in wearing pink to show their support against bullying.:)
We began the day writing
our homework in our agendas and then discussing as a group different holidays
or traditions that we celebrate at home.
For UOI, we discussed what
we already know about culture. We then conducted a survey about the different
cultures we have in Grade 2 and made a bar graph to show our results.
We then worked in groups to
make a brainstorm about the various cultural celebrations/traditions that we
know.
During Math, Students were
given the nets for a cone, cube, cylinder, square pyramid, triangular prism.
They wrote the following attributes on each net:
___faces, ___ edges, ___ vertices, name of solid, I am a 3D
shape, I look like ____
After first recess and
lunch, students had Music.
Students then had French
with Mdm. Stella.
After second recess and
lunch, students continued working on explanation
writing. Students have already written brainstorms for a mechanical toy
that they have invented. Today students began on their rough copies. Students
are focusing on the name, how it works, what their mechanical toy can do, what
their mechanical toy can do for them or with them, and what it looks like.
Students ensured to use as much detail as possible.
