Wonderful Wednesday!
We began the day welcoming our new
friend, Maya, and introducing ourselves to her. We are so excited to have her
join our class!!
We then wrote our homework in our
agendas.
After, students worked on their
Math Review.
When students were finished, they
did a fun experiment that helped us learn the important job that a fulcrum has
on a lever. The fulcrum is what allows the lever to move and do it’s job. We
used a cube, triangular prism, and a sphere to see which shape fulcrum could
hold a load. We first made our predictions and then performed our experiment.
We noticed that the sphere could not even hold the ruler so it could not hold a
load. The cube was able to hold a load but it made everything level. The
triangular prism worked like a sea saw and was able to hold a load. So we
learned that a triangular prism made the best fulcrum.
After first recess and lunch, we
had Music.
Students then had French.
After second recess and lunch, we
had Novel Study. We first did a retell as a class about what has happened so
far in Freckle Juice. We then read chapter 3. Andrew ran home as fast as he
could so that he could make the freckle juice recipe that Sharon had sold to
him. The ingredients sounded like it would not be yummy to taste but Andrew
made it anyways. When he was drinking the “freckle juice” he needed to plug his
noise because it smelled so bad! After he drank it, he felt really sick. He
slowly went over to the mirror to see if he will get any freckles. Stay tuned!
