We began the day with our new novel study. The book we are
reading is called Chocolate Fever. Before we read chapter 1, we worked on
making a strong prediction. First, we predicted what we thought the book would
be about just by reading the title. Then, we read the summary at the back and
changed our predictions based on what we read. After, we read the table of
contents and added any information missing in our predictions. We then read the
first chapter as a class. He met Henry and his family. We learned how much
Henry LOVES chocolate and that he eats it all the time!!
After, we had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we continued using a place value mat
in order to add two digit numbers.
During UOI, we continued working on our country brochures
that we will be presenting on Friday.
After first recess and lunch, we had French.
When students returned, they wrote their homework in their
agendas and then completed any unfinished work.
At the end of the day, students continued creating their own
monster. They began their good copies and also drawing their monster using the
detail in their explanation.
