Tremendous Thursday!!

We began the day reading our final chapter of our novel study! We learned that each and every one of us can make a difference in our world ‘one penguin at a time/one panda at a time’. Even though each of us is only one person, we can all make small changes in our every day lives to help our planet and or endangered animal friends. We can each do our part so that we can help make our world a better place. We can also come together to create a movement like the many wildlife foundations that help protect endangered animals all over the world!

We then had French and then Gym with Ms. Jaskolka outside!

After first recess and lunch we played games using the terms fair and unfair. We played two different games with a partner and we needed to determine at the end of the game if the game was fair or unfair and explain our reasoning.

Next we did a lot of reflecting!! We looked through all our activities for the third determined and we determined an activity that we worked our hardest on, did our best on and an activity we felt as though we could improve; we put these activities into our IB binders.

Then we continued making our posters that we will post around the school to encourage our school community to help protect our planet!

Following second recess and lunch we were off on another nature walk to enjoy and appreciate the natural world around us. Today our mission was to create Spring Symphony! Students first found a quiet spot and listened for a while to all the wonderful nature sounds around them. We heard birds singing, cuckoos calling, bees buzzing, rustles from birds or squirrels in the undergrowth, the breeze in the treetops and the grass!! Students then worked in groups to repeat a nature sound that they heard. Students looked on the woodland floor to see if they could use an object or found item. After we began our spring symphony!!! Once we were given a cue from our conductors (Ms. Jaskolka and Ms. Ramcharan) we joined in and created a beautiful spring symphony! Before we left, we thanked the nature all around us for playing a beautiful symphony for us!
