Wonderful Wednesday!
We began the day having French with Mlle.
Jessica.
We then moved onto math. We first worked on a mental math
activity. We were given cards with a number broken down by tens and ones and we
needed to work together to finish the mental math activity as quickly as we
could; we were able to do it in 02 minutes and 52 seconds. We will work extra
hard tomorrow to beat that time. We then explored how to use a place value mat
to better understand two digit numbers. We will use this knowledge throughout
our unit to use a place value mat to add and subtract two digit numbers. We
then worked in partners to match the same amount shown on each card given.
We then had physical education.
After we went out for recess and then had lunch.
Next we watched the oral competition between St. Jude’s
and The Maples Academy. Everyone did a fantastic job!!!
Following second recess and lunch, we worked again in
groups to practice our summative presentation. We were open minded and caring when providing positive
feedback for our friends.
At the end of the day, Jacob shared a book written by his
dad in grade 3 about Poland!! We were able to find more connections with our colourful
cultures unit and countries that we learned about!
