Tremendous Tuesday!
Wine and Cheese Social Event - SJA will be holding a wine and cheese for all parents to attend on Friday, April 26th from 6-8 PM. This will be a great time to socialize and hear about the direction SJA will be heading.
We began the day with math.
Learning goal: add integers using numbers lines and patterns
Today we learned how to use a number line in order to add integers. We went through some examples as a class and then showed our understanding by answering questions on our own.
Success Criteria:
-I understand: a number line can be used to add integers
-an arrow to the right represents a positive integer
-an arrow to the left represents a negative integer
-the sum of opposite integers is zero
-when I add two positive integers, the sum is always positive
-when I add two negative integers, the sum is always negative
-when I add two integers with different signs, the sign of the sum is the sign that matches the greater number
-I can add integers using numbers lines
-I can add integers using patterns
The rest of the day was spent working on our exhibition essay, French component, mentor meetings and conducting interviews.
We also had the SJA in school Spelling Bee!!! Congrats to all our competitors and to Rhea and Dolapo for making the top 3!!
